Educational workshop to help soon-to-be Chicago parents prepare

An educational workshop is coming to the Chicago area later this month, offering expecting parents an opportunity to learn more about the ways they can understand their baby.

The Understanding Your Baby Workshop has announced that enrollment is open online to new and expecting parents who want to learn more about what to expect and how to interpret their newborn’s non-verbal cues. Parents who attend will learn about how babies use crying, feeding cues, and nurturing touch to communicate their needs and wants to create an understanding from day one.

Parents who attend can use the information learned to build confidence and a stronger connection with their baby, making it easier for bonds to grow when they are home from infant daycare in Chicago. The information is conveyed from the pediatrician’s side of the equation, with the instructor sharing the common feeding cues to watch for and answering any questions about feeding newborn infants.

The workshop will also dive into the different types of crying babies use to communicate with their parents. It will close with a social period where parents can ask questions and share stories with other attendees. It’s an excellent way to grow as a parent while also understanding the importance of quality educators at infant daycare programs, like those at Kids’ Work Chicago Riverview.

The Understanding Your Baby Workshop will be hosted by Niche Physical Therapy in Oak Park and is scheduled for Saturday, May 30 from 10:30 AM to noon. The session is limited to 10 spots. Parents can register in advance online, with tickets costing $20.
