At Kids’ Work Chicago Riverview, we seek to support families and our students, and our Infant Meal Plan provides another great way to do so. The plan offers healthy meals and snacks as a way to help the parents of our students save time in the morning.
The meal plan is a path toward the peace of mind that comes with not needing to plan, prepare, and pack meals for their little ones.
Infants can start participating in the Infant Meal Plan in the month they turn 6 months old, and we will add the monthly fee to the monthly tuition amount at that time. The daily menu for each student enrolled in the meal plan includes:
Our program offers several puree flavors, allowing students to discover new flavors and reap the benefits of a wide spectrum of nutrients and vitamins. The typical options are Apple, Banana, Peas, Pear, Carrots, Sweet Potato, Mango, Green Beans, Strawberry, Spinach, Vanilla, Peach, Beef, Turkey, and Chicken.
Parents are asked to introduce these different foods at home prior to their little ones participating in the Infant Meal Plan to identify any food allergies and intolerances.
Our educators are trained on proper infant feeding techniques using a bowl and spoon, which helps little ones learn proper oral and swallowing development. Parents are also welcome to supplement with additional food options, though we ask that you avoid glass containers and that the foods are labeled.
Upon turning nine months old, students will join the monthly organic meal plan from Healthy Organic Kids. The menu contains soft, steamed, and developmentally appropriate foods for your children. Our staff will cut these foods as needed for student safety.
At 12 months, whole cow’s milk will be provided unless parents notify our staff of their preference to bring their own milk or an alternative because of allergies or sensitivities. An organic provider supplies the milk for Healthy Organic Kids, but the supply is not guaranteed. When organic milk is not available, it will be substituted with non-organic whole milk.
All meals and snacks are prepared utilizing CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) guidelines to promote safety and wellness for our students. Parents who discover a food sensitivity or allergy are asked to notify our staff through the Kids’ Work Chicago Riverview Student Allergy/Intolerance Procedure.
