A beloved children’s film has been adapted for the stage, bringing the story to life for children and their parents in Chicago.

The Theatre for Young Audiences is preparing to bring a production of Finding Nemo to the stage in a few weeks, giving local children the chance to see their favorite characters live and in person. The show will help attendees explore Nemo’s world through an energetic and entertaining musical.

The music for the show was written by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, an award-winning songwriting team known for their previous work on hits like Frozen. The story follows a protective clownfish named Marlin as he attempts to raise his son, Nemo. Nemo’s ultimate dream is to explore the world beyond their home. Marlin ultimately must face his fears after Nemo is captured and taken to Sydney.

Other characters for children in the audience to enjoy and connect with include Crush, a calm and steady sea turtle, the Tank Gang, and the always-positive Dory. The show is suitable for children in daycare in 60618, and is a fun way to help children who attend Kids’ Work Chicago Riverview nurture a love for stage productions and the arts.

The production will be held at the Marriott Theatre, located at 10 Marriott Drive in Lincolnshire, Illinois. It will run until the end of the year, and the shows will be held on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Tickets are $22 per person online.
