Water-themed block party to help Chicago children beat the heat

Getting Set for Success

The warm temperatures of summer have arrived in the Windy City, and children in town will have the chance to participate in a water-themed block party to cool off.

The Splash Bash Summer Block Party at Winston Plaza is coming up this July, and parents who want to help their children stay active and social during the summer break will want to make reservations. The party features a free afternoon of play on water slides, upbeat music, and tons of bubbles and foam.

Organizers are using the event to offer free family fun over the summer break, making it a memorable and affordable option for families when their children aren’t in summer camp in Chicago. In addition to the giant water slide, children can have fun in the squirt gun area and bubble zone. A DJ will provide the block party’s tunes, and a performer will put on a magic show.

Balloon artists and face painters will add to the experience for little ones on summer break from Kids’ Work Chicago Riverview, allowing them to stay active and enjoy time with friends. Attendees are encouraged to bring a towel.

Winston Plaza, located at North Avenue and 9th Avenue in nearby Melrose Park, will host the Splash Bash Summer Block Party. The date is set for Saturday, July 25, with the doors opening at noon and the party ending at 3:00 PM. Registration is open online, and parents can reserve a spot for their little ones for free.
