A summer camp that is all about dance has opened online registration in the Windy City for a week-long experience that will teach local children dance skills to themes they will love.
The Dancing with Stars Summer Camp, which is being presented by the Fred Astaire Dance Studio Chicago Lakeview, has announced a week-long summer camp in Chicago that is based on the hit television show, Dancing With the Stars. Students who sign up will enjoy a week of learning new dance moves and choreography in a fun and upbeat environment.
Organizers have planned a different theme for each day at the camp, including Color Wars Team Dances and Disney Day, making it an excellent fit for children preparing for kindergarten in Chicago. The camp will culminate in a live finale where each student gets to go on stage and perform a solo dance that demonstrates the skills they’ve learned and confidence they have built.
Dance types learned include ballroom and Latin basics, and the setting is conducive for little ones to make friends after a school year in the classroom at Kids’ Work Chicago Riverview. Guest instructors will help lead the themed days, and games will add an element of friendly competition. No experience is necessary, and the camp is open to children six and over.
The Fred Astaire Dance Studio on North Halsted Street in Chicago will be hosting the camp. It begins at 9:00 AM on Monday, July 6, and ends on Friday, July 10. Parents can enroll their children online for $375 per student.
