Children’s musical to premiere in Chicago

Kids’ Work Today

An iconic songwriter’s musical will be taking the stage in Chicago this month, giving children with a love for animals a fun and entertaining way to learn.

The Roald Dahl Story Company: Roald Dahl’s The Enormous Crocodile will enjoy its opening night soon, and parents with young children who have a love of nature will want to book their seats at the show. The story follows The Enormous Crocodile and his growing hunger as he wanders through the jungle.

The story’s other characters must band together to try to thwart The Enormous Crocodile. These other characters include Trunky the Elephant and Muggle-Wump the Monkey, along with several other lovable and creative puppets. The show will make its U.S. premiere in Chicago after enjoying significant success in the United Kingdom. It will be a fun show for children in daycare in the 60618 area and their parents.

The storyline will take the characters and audience members from the deepest parts of the jungle out to outer space before returning to the jungle again. It is an excellent learning opportunity that pairs wildlife with music, making it suitable for students of enrollment age at Kids’ Work Chicago Riverview. The show will run for 60 minutes and will not have an intermission period.

The Studebaker Theater in the Fine Arts Building, located in downtown Chicago, will host the musical’s opening performance, which is part of the wider Chicago International Puppet Theater Festival. It is scheduled for Thursday, January 29, at 1:00 PM. Tickets are available online for $48 for general admission, and $40 for students and seniors.
