A summer yoga experience is in the works in the Windy City next week, and parents in the area will want to mark their calendars to ensure their little ones can attend.
The Young Yogis Kids’ Yoga, which is being put together by WonderPlay and Coffee, has announced the official time and date, and has opened online registration to interested families. The session will provide a safe and positive environment for children as young as three years old to move and stretch during the summer break.
The in-person class is designed specifically for kids, making it an active way to change up the family’s summer routine for those with little ones enrolled in daycare in Logan Square and the surrounding neighborhoods. Instructors will lead participants through different yoga poses, games, and breathing exercises. In addition to keeping children active, the session can improve flexibility, functional strength, and coordination.
The setting is also ideal for little ones to begin building their social skills outside of the home. Organizers hope that the session can be a catalyst for new friendships. Parents are more than welcome to join or watch the session, and will need to complete a waiver upon arriving at the venue when checking in at the front desk. It’s a setting where parents can enjoy peace of mind, similar to the classrooms at Kids’ Work Chicago Riverview.
WonderPlay and Coffee on West Belmont Avenue in Chicago will be hosting the Young Yogis Kids’ Yoga session. It’s scheduled for next Monday, June 22, and Tuesday, June 23, starting at 4:30 PM. Registration is free for members and $22 for non-members online.
