The cold winds of winter and spring are nearly at an end in Chicago, with communities across the Second City planning festivals to celebrate the return of the sun’s warmth.
The Picnic in the Park will be coming to the Arlington Heights community of Chicago next month with the goal of providing families in the area with a safe setting to celebrate the end of the school year with their little ones. Children will get to welcome the summer season in style while making core memories with their parents and friends.
The evening will feature live music that captures the positive and hopeful mood of summer. Istvan and His Imaginary Band will open, while The Prissillas are the headliner for the evening. The performances will start at 5:45 PM, with The Prissillas taking the stage at 7:00 PM. Parents with children in daycare in Logan Square and the surrounding areas can take part in the celebrations due to the family-friendly environment.
Other highlights include a bounce house, mini golf, face-painting stations, and balloon artists. The organizers are confident that the festival will provide a fun way to celebrate a year of learning and growth at Kids’ Work Chicago Riverview for local families. Food trucks will provide snacks and refreshments. No pets will be allowed to ensure the safety of patrons.
North School Park in Arlington Heights will be the host site for the Picnic in the Park, which is scheduled for Friday, June 5, at 5:30 PM. Admission is free and open to the public.
