Disney classic to take the stage in Chicago

A classic Disney production is preparing to take to the stage in Chicago next month, providing parents with a fun way to enjoy the arts with their children.

Disney’s The Lion King Musical has announced its tour stop in Chicago with the goal of bringing the production’s most memorable and iconic songs and characters to life in front of a live audience. The show will be a family-friendly experience and share a story that kids in and around kindergarten in Chicago will love.

Attendees will see the energy and beauty of the Serengeti take shape before them, with Pride Rock emerging on the stage and the accompanying music adding to the drama. The show has entertained over 100 million guests, making it one of the most popular Broadway shows in history.

Children in attendance will learn more about the arts, as well as the wildlife that inhabits the Serengeti region of Africa, building upon their early education at Kids’ Work Chicago Riverview. It can also be a setting where children discover a love of music.

The production has won six Tony Awards, with the headliner being Best Musical. Many of the songs were written and produced by award-winning artists Tim Rice and Elton John.

The Cadillac Palace Theatre in Chicago will host the production, which is set to open on Friday, October 3, and continue running Tuesdays through Sundays until October 19. Tickets are available online through Ticketmaster, starting at $66 per guest.
