Parents in Chicago who want to share the wonders and joys of music with their children will want to make a note in their agenda, as a Grammy-nominated artist will soon be hosting an event of discovery.
The Chicago Symphony Orchestra is pairing up with Justin Roberts, a five-time Grammy-nominated children’s music artist, to bring an exciting opportunity to children in Kindergarten in Chicago to discover new instruments and a passion for music. Roberts will use his extensive experience and welcoming personality to provide an engaging look at the techniques and timbres of several instruments.
The program will include segments of songs like Symphony No. 4 by Tchaikovsky, Overture to William Tell by Rossini, and Thunder and Lightning Polka by Strauss. It is an excellent opportunity for parents to add to the musical enrichment courses offered at Kids’ Work Chicago Riverview outside of daycare hours.
The event will also include Orchestra Explorer Activities that are located on all five floors of the Orchestra Rotunda. A scavenger hunt, an instrument petting zoo, and a reading corner will all be set up for children at the event. All of the Explorer Activities are free for registered guests to enjoy and participate in with their young ones.
The immersive learning experience will be held on Saturday, November 15, at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra on South Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago. Parents can reserve tickets for their children online for $25 per participant. Time slots at 11:00 AM and 12:45 PM are available for guests’ convenience.
