Chicago residents with an affinity for musicals, along with those seeking a new holiday tradition, will want to mark their calendars, as a family-friendly musical is stopping by town.
Mrs. Claus! A Holiday Musical, which is being put on by the Chicago Kids Company (CKC), is getting ready to give a warm welcome to audiences who want to see a festive and jolly production as the heart of the holidays draws closer. The show, which will be one hour long and not have an intermission period, will follow the challenges that Mrs. Claus and the Elf Class of 2025 face in attempting to save Christmas.
The show is suitable for children in daycare in Chicago, as well as their older siblings and parents, making it an excellent occasion for parents to enjoy some quality time with their young ones outside of Kids’ Work Chicago Riverview. Mrs. Claus! will be running for the 26th consecutive year, featuring the original music and script written by Paige Coffman and Jesus Perez, an award-winning writing duo.
The production will run at two different theaters to reach as many viewers as possible, with one cast performing at the Beverly Arts Center and the other at the Stahl Family Theater. Both theaters are located in downtown Chicago. It will premiere at the Beverly Arts Center on Wednesday, December 3, and will run there until Tuesday, December 23. Stahl Family Theater will offer shows from Thursday, December 11 until Tuesday, December 23.
