A free holiday celebration is coming to the Windy City this upcoming season, giving parents and their young ones a way to enjoy a day of family fun filled with activities and cheer.
The Hyde Park Holly-Day event, which is suitable for families with children of all ages, has announced its date, giving area families the chance to add it to their schedule. Organizers are aiming to provide a full day of free activities designed to help children who attend make core memories with their parents that they will reflect on with nostalgia when older.
There will be a wide range of activities, including an ice carving demonstration, a singing performance by Mama Fresh, a meet-and-greet with Buddy the Elf, and several stations for holiday crafts. The craft options will give children in preschool in 60618 an opportunity to showcase and build on the skills they have gained from classes at Kids’ Work Chicago Riverview.
Costumed characters will be at the celebration, giving parents the chance to capture photos of their young ones to share with friends and family. Other things to look forward to are the self-guided ice sculpture stroll at the host venue and a screening of Zootopia 2 at Harper Theater.
The holiday celebration will be held at Hyde Park in downtown Chicago. The free events are scheduled for Saturday, December 6, and visitors are welcome to arrive at 10:00 AM for the ice carving demonstration. Admission is free to all interested parties.
