A Chicago museum has announced the opening of a new exhibit that will become available to children and their families next month, taking visitors to the Land of Oz.
The Land of Oz: Beyond the Page exhibit, presented by the Driehaus Museum, is preparing to welcome visitors to discover the Land of Oz and learn more about the artistry that helped bring the beloved and iconic story to life from the children’s book’s pages to the big screen. The event is suitable for children in pre-k in 60618 and up, providing a fun way for parents to learn and bond with their young ones.
The exhibit is divided into three distinct sections, shedding light on the story’s costumes, production design, and writing. Visitors will be able to gain a new perspective and greater appreciation for L. Frank Baum’s work. Other highlights that little ones and their parents will have the opportunity to see in the exhibit include the Cowardly Lion’s Badge of Courage, a Flying Monkey costume, and Dorothy’s Red Slippers.
It is an excellent experience for children who are growing into book lovers through their early education experiences at Kids’ Work Chicago Riverview.
The Richard H. Driehaus Museum is the host site for the exhibit, located at 50 East Erie Street in downtown Chicago. The program opens on Thursday, November 13, and is accessible during normal museum operating hours. Tickets are $20 per adult, and children 12 and under enter for free.
