Pokémon and paleontology to collide in downtown Chicago

A one-of-a-kind experience is being brought together in Chicago next month, allowing area children to learn about paleontology through their love of Pokémon.

The Pokémon Fossil Museum experience, which will be hosted by The Field Museum, is getting ready to open its doors to parents with little ones in Chicago, providing access to real-world fossils. Attendees will get the chance to compare these fossils with Fossil Pokémon like Archeops and Tyrantrum. Among the fossils that children will get to inspect are the bones of SUE, the Tyrannosaurus Rex.

It will be an interactive learning experience that can help children who are preparing for kindergarten in Chicago get a head start on discovering their interests and passions. The exhibit will make its international debut at The Field Museum, making it the first venue in the United States to host the Pokémon Fossil Museum.

The experience provides an excellent opportunity for parents with children enrolled at Kids’ Work Chicago Riverview to bond through shared discovery. It’s an excellent fit for local little ones who love science and Pokémon, offering the best of both worlds. Interest is expected to be high in this exhibit, and interested families will want to reserve tickets while they remain available.

The Field Museum venue is located at 1400 South Lake Shore Drive in downtown Chicago. The Pokémon Fossil Museum exhibit opens on Friday, May 22 at 9:00 AM. It will be accessible during the museum’s normal operating hours. Participants will need to purchase an add-on ticket to explore, with these tickets set to be released online in the coming weeks.
