Pottery camp to give Chicago kids creative learning opportunity

Chicago parents who are looking for a fun learning opportunity for their little ones this spring are in luck, as a pottery workshop for children has opened registration.

The Brain Builders Academy has announced a Pottery Workshop For Children event, which is suitable for little ones of all ages, and that will be held later this month. The workshop will span five days, helping registered students learn new skills, explore their creativity, and build friendships.

Instructors at the workshop will help the children create a functional set of clayware to take home, allowing them to use the pieces daily at home.

The lessons taken from the workshop can combine nicely with what students enrolled at Kids’ Work Chicago Riverview are already learning through their curriculum and enrichment programs. The overall focus will be on learning hand-building techniques, exploring the Chinese ceramic traditions, and learning how to glaze the clayware items they will make, including a plate, cup, and bowl. Enrollment is open to little ones who are young enough to attend daycare in Logan Square and the surrounding areas.

Enrollees will also be in an ideal setting to discover and enjoy different emotion therapy benefits, including mindfulness and the feelings that come with accomplishing a goal or completing a project.

The Pottery Workshop For Children will be held at 225 South Sangamon Street in downtown Chicago, and it is scheduled to begin at 9:00 AM on Monday, March 23, ending on Friday, March 27. Enrollment is open online, with tuition costing $578.06 for the full week.
