A festival catered toward Generation X parents is being organized in Roscoe Village, allowing these parents to share the joys, foods, and music of their youth with their children.
The 30th Annual Retro on Roscoe is gearing up to provide a blast from the past, a festival that will bring together the nostalgic sounds of top bands from the era for a memorable day. The festival will cover a six-block stretch of Roscoe Village and feature three separate stages, allowing attendees to hear a variety of popular bands and artists.
It will feature a kid-friendly atmosphere with activities for the entire family to participate in and enjoy. Vendors and local artisans will have spaces along the tree-lined street to set up tents and share their crafts and products with shoppers. Several local restaurants will also be on hand to provide snacks, meals, and sweet treats.
Organizers have ensured an excellent family area to keep children stimulated and entertained. The location will feature inflatables, face-painting stations, rides, games, and music geared toward children aged Pre K in Chicago. It’s certainly an excellent activity to enjoy after picking up the children from an education center like us at Kids’ Work Chicago Riverview.
Families can then venture to the Classic Car Show that is being held as part of the Retro Festival. Over 50 antique and classic vehicles have signed up for this year’s festival.
Entry to Retro on Roscoe, which is set to begin on Friday, September 5, is free, though a $15 donation is appreciated.
