The Insect Asylum to run a Community Day

A local museum is running an ongoing series for children in Chicago, allowing them and their parents to learn more about insects and their habitats.

The Community Day at the Insect Asylum event has announced an upcoming date for Chicago families to attend, providing children with the chance to inspect over 2,500 different insect specimens in a hands-on learning environment. The day, which offers a discount on tickets, will also bring children closer to living creatures, like the venue’s Mourning Dove family and Opal the Opossum.

The museum provides a closer look at taxidermy samples to allow children in preschool in 60618 and the surrounding areas to learn more about wildlife, and the live-animal exhibit is home to hundreds of captivating creatures. Parents are encouraged to capture the moments at the museum with their children, building memories through shared experiences and new interests. The Community Day is also an excellent learning opportunity to build on teachings from daycare centers like Kids’ Work Chicago Riverview.

All children 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult, though the event is open to children of all ages. The experience is also open to children who would prefer to watch rather than participate, with the venue’s staff capable of accommodating these families.

The Insect Asylum, located on North Milwaukee Avenue in downtown Chicago, will host Community Day every second Wednesday. It will run from 3:00 to 8:00 PM. Tickets are available online for $12.51 per person.
