Parents in Chicago with children who have a strong interest in nature and animals will want to make a note to themselves, as an animal-themed story time session is opening registration.
The Scales N Tales Storytime at Franklin Park Public Library will open its doors to families with young children who possess a passion for nature. The learning experience, which occurs weekly, is open to children up to five years of age, making it suitable for those in daycare in Roscoe Village and the surrounding areas.
Each week, the children will hear a story about a different animal, helping them to develop and discover new animals that fascinate them. Some storytelling sessions may also include bilingual excerpts, making it a perfect opportunity for children enrolled at Kids’ Work Chicago Riverview to put the Spanish language skills they learn through the enrichment program on display.
The exposure to new and different animals can help children who attend expand their knowledge in a setting that makes learning more enjoyable. The event is being organized by the Franklin Park Public Library, an independent library that serves a town of over 18,000 that aims to improve the quality of life for attendees and community members.
The host venue is located at 10311 Grand Avenue in Franklin Park. Organizers do not require registration to ensure a smooth drop-off experience for parents and their children. The next session is set for next Friday, February 27, from 11:00 to 11:30 AM. Attendance is free.
