Chicago museum to let little ones explore science

Highly Interactive Math and Science

An ongoing event that caters to children has announced the next date in its PlayLab series, bringing Chicago’s children closer to science through hands-on learning.

Chicago’s Field Museum will be hosting an upcoming PlayLab PlayDate event for local children, and area parents who wish to help their little ones discover an interest in science and learning are encouraged to sign up. The upcoming experience is open to children between two and six years of age, along with their parents or guardians. It offers a valuable learning opportunity for children in preschool in Chicago to continue growing when not attending class at Kids’ Work Chicago Riverview.

The theme of the upcoming PlayDate is Black History Month, with the Chicago Public Library hosting the story time session. The stories will take a closer look at Black identities, culture, history, and communities in a welcoming and inclusive setting. The session may also include music, science experiences, and crafting sessions that promote creativity and critical thinking.

Future events are scheduled for select Saturdays and Wednesday, helping parents plan around other events on the family’s calendar. Families can use the host venue’s calendar to track the dates of future events.

The Field Museum on Lake Shore Drive in Chicago will host the event. The next installment is scheduled for next Wednesday, February 25, from 11:00 AM to noon. Attendance is free with the price of admission to the museum. Tickets cost $21 for Chicago residents and $30 for visitors online.
