Children interested in art will have a fun experience to look forward to this spring, as a conservatory in Chicago will continue hosting a nature-themed art event.
The Art After Dark program, which is being held by the Garfield Park Conservatory, has announced the next date for an upcoming program that will help children in Chicago combine their interests in art and nature into one memorable experience. The event will be the continuation of an ongoing series that began in December and will conclude this April.
The sessions will be led by the Garfield Park Conservatory’s nature educators, who have experience working with children in preschool in Chicago. The program is scheduled to last three and a half hours and is designed for children aged four and older. The activities the educators will lead will explore different themes related to science and nature, making the event a great experience for students at Kids’ Work Chicago Riverview to expand their knowledge.
The ultimate focus is helping children participate in learning and processing subject matter through art. Families who attend can pursue individual, open-ended projects and nature journals, all of which are inspired by the conservatory’s experiences and knowledge. The art session will be followed by a lesson on the ecosystems in Chicago and our place in them.
The sessions will be held at the Garfield Park Conservatory, located on North Central Park Avenue in Chicago. They are scheduled for every Wednesday evening until April 1. Registration is open online, and the art experience is free to attend.
