A library in the Chicago area has announced a new workshop designed to give new parents helpful tips and knowledge to support children’s language skills and development.
The Parenting Tips for Speech and Language Development workshop is coming to the Tinley Park Public Library this summer, giving Windy City parents a fantastic resource to help them prepare for raising a child. The 90-minute class will be led by speech-language pathologist Joe Sierra.
Sierra will use his years of experience to guide attendees toward a closer look at how a child’s communication and language skills grow and develop.
It’s an ideal educational opportunity for new and soon-to-be parents in Chicago, as the knowledge and skills gained from it can aid in their little one’s development as they progress from daycare in Roscoe Village and the surrounding areas into kindergarten and beyond. Attendees will examine the different developmental milestones that children reach from their birth to the age of five.
The workshop also features enrichment activities to help the parents hone their skills and build confidence. It’s an excellent fit for parents who want peace of mind that their little one is growing and developing at home, as well as at a daycare program in Chicago, such as Kids’ Work Chicago Riverview.
The Tinley Park Public Library will host the Speech and Language Development workshop for parents on Monday, July 20. The class starts at 6:30 PM. Online registration is required and is free of charge.
