A world of stories and creativity is getting ready to welcome children in Chicago this summer, as a storytelling series featuring a prominent children’s author has just been announced.
The Storytime Featuring Sandra Boynton Stories, presented by Lilliput Books, has announced that it has opened online registration for families in Chicago who want to be part of an entertaining reading experience. The readers will use the event’s allotted time to read two to three of Sandra Boynton’s most beloved books for little ones, helping children in attendance discover an interest in reading while growing their comprehension.
Among Boynton’s most notable works are The Going to Bed Book, the interactive Barnyard Dance book, and Blue Hat, Green Hat, which helps children learn their colors in an upbeat way. The experience is suitable for little ones who are preparing to enter preschool in Chicago at the start of the upcoming school year, while children up to 8 years old are also welcome.
In addition to listening to the stories, children at the event will be given coloring pages to enjoy a hands-on art project. The story-time gathering gives parents another resource, in addition to enrollment at daycare centers like Kids’ Work Chicago Riverview, to allow their children to develop reading and comprehension skills as they grow and develop.
Lilliput Books, located on North Halsted Street in Chicago, will be the host venue. The first edition of the series is scheduled for Saturday, July 25, with the doors opening at 9:45 AM. Tickets are only needed for children to help organizers keep count. They can be reserved online, free of charge.
