Parents in Chicago looking for fun ways to help their children stay physically active will want to mark their calendars, as a local gymnastics center is hosting open gym sessions.
The Preschool Open Gym sessions are welcoming children from across the Windy City for a day of exploration, physical activity, and fun with friends. The event, which is open to children in pre-school in Chicago up to six years of age, can help children who attend discover an interest and passion for the sport of gymnastics.
The sessions will be monitored by trained and experienced staff members to provide peace of mind to parents and prevent accidents. These staff members will also ensure proper usage of all areas of the equipment and facility. A parent and guardian will be required to attend with their child.
It’s a fun way for parents with children enrolled in Kids’ Work Chicago Riverview to help their little ones stay active on days they do not attend classes. Parents are encouraged to ensure their children wear clothing that allows for movement and a range of motion for the best experience. Athletic shoes that fit well are also helpful.
The Elmhurst Gymnastics Center, which is located in nearby Elmhurst on Industrial Drive, will host the preschool open gym experience. It will continue running on Friday mornings until March 27, starting at 9:00 and ending at 10:30 AM each day. Parents can purchase a punch pass online to skip the line or purchase multi-visit passes. A day pass is $10 online.
