A performance of one of the most beloved children’s books of the past will be making an appearance in Chicago soon, providing an experience that local children and their parents will not want to miss.
Goodnight Moon: An Immersive Spectacle has announced its opening date at a local theater, and families with little ones who love the story, or who are new to it, are encouraged to attend. The musical performance is based upon the story written by Margaret Wise, with the production paying homage to the book’s illustrations through its heavy use of primary colors.
Attendees will get to witness the performance in an immersive setting that makes children who attend feel like they are part of the show. The performers will sing catchy songs that are connected to the story, along with reciting the original book’s poetry. Little ones will also follow the comical antics of a nocturnal bunny rabbit as part of the show. The performance is designed to accommodate young children, including those in daycare in Lakeview Chicago.
Public performances are to be held on Saturdays and Sundays, allowing parents with children enrolled in daycare or preschool programs, like those at Kids’ Work Chicago Riverview, to attend and enjoy the show together.
The show’s opening performance will be held on Sunday, April 12, with other public shows held every Saturday and Sunday until June 7th. The show will take the stage at 9:30 and 11:30 AM at the Pritzker Family Studio Theatre in Chicago. General admission tickets are $52.25 per guest online.
