Colorful flowers are coming to Chicago in the next few weeks, providing area families with an opportunity to build floral arrangements and create new memories.
The Chicago Flower Festival is preparing to open and welcome families and children of all ages for a colorful and bright day, creating art and bouquets with flowers while shopping with local vendors. Over 25 flower farms are expected to participate in the local festival, with each specializing in different types of flowers.
Children in daycare in Chicago will have the chance to help their parents make bouquets, with the festival offering several ticket package options. The event can be used to build on the learning foundation of colors and art taught at Kids’ Work Chicago Riverview.
An Early Access ticket package is also available for interested parties who want to beat the crowds and have access to the most pristine flower options. Food options from local vendors will be available, including tacos to snack on. Coffee can also be purchased for a flavorful energy boost when shopping and arranging.
Vendors selling shirts to commemorate the festival will have booths to display their goods. Organizers are describing the festival as similar to a farmers’ market, but with flowers rather than produce and food.
The festival will be held at New Life Community East in Humboldt Park this Saturday, September 13, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Admission is free of charge, and tickets can be reserved online.
