A special learning experience is coming to a library in Chicago this weekend, offering children the opportunity to learn about nocturnal creatures and their habitats in a fun and engaging setting.
The STEAM-Powered Saturday learning event, presented by the Harold Washington Library Center, is preparing to set up and welcome local families for a memorable day of learning about nature and the creatures that inhabit it. Children who attend will learn about the different animals and life forms that are most active at night, as well as the critters that live in swamps.
The experience will have several kid-friendly activities that are perfect for creating core memories. Organizers state that the event is ideal for children in preschool in Chicago as a way to build upon the things learned at accredited early childhood learning centers, such as Kids’ Work Chicago Riverview.
Activities for young attendees include a LEGO engineering challenge, a workshop making glow-in-the-dark slime, and a Science Play Zone, designed for children aged 8 years and younger. Little ones will also get to meet live animals through the Flying Fox Conservation Fund.
The organizers are partnering with the Art Institute of Chicago and Griffin Museum of Science and Industry to bring this memorable experience to life.
The Harold Washington Library Center, located on South State Street in Chicago, will be the site of the learning event. It is scheduled for this Saturday, October 4, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Registration is open to interested parents and their children online.
