A popular music festival is making its triumphant return to Chicago this weekend, providing a safe and enjoyable setting for parents and their children to enjoy live music.
The Edgewater Music Fest, the largest street festival to hit Broadway in the previous six years, is set to arrive with abundant energy and live music for attendees to listen to and dance to. The event aims to combine a celebration of music with a showcase of the Edgewater area’s small businesses and restaurants. An estimated 80 vendors have signed up to attend and provide access to their goods or services.
The musical lineup will combine several different sounds into one weekend of tunes. Ric Wilson, a Chicago hip-hop sensation, will take the stage, along with other prominent musicians and performers, including Foxy Shazam. Other groups on the lineup card include Devon Kay & The Solutions, Bev Rage & The Drinks, and The Brokedowns.
The Kidz Zone, an area dedicated to children at the festival, will be located in front of the Broadway Armory. Over 15 local organizations will have activities similar to those of summer camp in Chicago. It is an excellent setting for children to enjoy after being picked up from a day at Kids’ Work Chicago Riverview. Activities will include coloring, soccer drills, music lessons, dancing, and other engaging activities.
The festival will take place in the Edgewater neighborhood of Chicago, starting this Friday, September 5, at 5:00 PM. Admission is free, but donations of $10 are appreciated.
