Chicago parents who are seeking a fun way to help their children stay active this spring will want to save the date, as a themed fun run is in the works nearby.
The Superhero 3K Fun Run has been announced for this April in nearby Lisle, with parents able to get their little ones registered. The run will allow participating children to dress as their favorite superheroes, from Wonder Woman to Iron Man. It will provide a safe environment for children to stretch their legs while parents cheer them on, with children enrolled in preschool in Chicago welcome to sign up.
Parents are welcome to stand along the route, where they will be accompanied by surprise visitors in the form of real-life heroes who will inspire the kiddos. Families are encouraged to hang out after the 3K is completed to spend time socializing with other parents while their children enjoy the host site’s playground.
The 3K is a fun way for little ones enrolled in programs like those at Kids’ Work Chicago Riverview to stay active and enjoy time outdoors during the weekend. The proceeds from the event will be used to benefit the Play for All Playground & Garden Foundation.
The Sensory Garden Playground, located at 2751 International Drive in Lisle, will be the host site for the Superhero Fun Run. It’s scheduled for Saturday, April 18, at 8:30 AM. Registration is open online, costing $30 for adults and $20 for children 12 and under.
