A Chicago theater has announced an upcoming event that is geared toward helping the very young discover the magic and excitement of theater.
The Imagine U: Theatre for the Very Young is getting ready to present Imagine That! and Splish, Splash: A Day on the Lake. The productions will provide an exciting and immersive introduction to the world of theater for children between two and five years old, along with their parents or guardians.
Two different shows will take place, with Imagine That! taking place on March 7 and March 15, and Splish, Splash: A Day on the Lake taking place on March 8 and March 14. Splish, Splash is set on Lake Michigan, with the characters sailing on a magical journey that includes puppetry, music, and interactive moments that can inspire children in daycare in Avondale and the surrounding areas.
Imagine That! will take the audience on an adventure with Autumn, Winter, and Spring to create a rainbow. The seasons discover that they will need assistance from Summer, with children in the audience playing the role of Summer. It will provide a multi-sensory and interactive theater experience that allows children to grow outside of classes such as those taken at Kids’ Work Chicago Riverview.
The experience is being planned and hosted by the Hal & Martha Hyer Wallis Theater on Campus Drive in nearby Evanston. The first show will take the stage on Saturday, March 7, at 9:30 AM. The shows will each run for 45 minutes. Tickets start at $7 per person online.
