Winter wonderland to welcome Chicago families

A colorful excursion has opened in the greater Chicago area for the holidays, providing a safe and accessible setting where parents and their young ones can indulge in the magic of the season.

The Christmas at Cantigny display is ready to light up the night in Wheaton for the holiday season, where parents in the Second City can make new memories with their children in festive fashion. The display, which is spread along a half-mile path, will feature music-orchestrated lights that are paired to all of the best holiday classics.

The path is ADA and stroller-accessible, ensuring a fun night for all who wish to attend. The stroller-friendly path also makes Christmas at Cantigny a great fit for families with children in daycare in Chicago. The crown jewel of the lights display will be a 28-foot-tall Christmas tree that towers over the path, providing a memorable view for children to share with their parents after a day of learning at Kids’ Work Chicago Riverview.

Some new additions for 2025 include interactive elements, a new Northern Lights section, and an increase in illuminated gardens over previous years. The organizers have also arranged for two new theme nights titled “Lights, Camera, Action!” and “A Wickedly Popular Christmas.” Each of the new theme nights will feature unique musical selections and lighting.

The illuminated wonderland will run until Sunday, January 4, with multiple time slots available each day for interested parties to choose from. The host site is Cantigny, located on Winfield Road in Wheaton. Tickets are available for purchase online, with adult tickets priced at $25.99 and children’s tickets at $15.99.
