Chicago parents who are looking for ways to keep their little ones busy and stimulated will want to mark their calendars, as a local museum has announced the opening date for a segment dedicated to children.
The Children’s Museum in Oak Lawn has revealed the official start date for its Wee Ones Wednesday event, which is intended to give young children and their parents a curated visitor experience. Organizers want to bring families with children between six weeks and three years old to the museum to ensure a more quiet and relaxed setting where little ones can grow and play.
Parents who attend will have an opportunity to learn more about their child’s development. It is an opportunity to build closer bonds through quality time outside of the Kids’ Work Chicago Riverview classroom. Organizers have also brought in experienced therapists who will be observing and playing with children in attendance, giving parents a resource that provides answers to any questions they have.
Children will learn through hands-on, immersive experiences. These include new sights, textures, sounds, and movement. The exhibit is also in alignment with educational standards, making it a suitable experience for parents with children attending daycare in North Center Chicago.
The curated experience, which will be held weekly throughout the summer, opens today and will run through until Wednesday, September 16, giving families ample time to build it into upcoming plans. The Children’s Museum is located at 5100 Museum Drive in Oak Lawn. Tickets are available online for $15 per adult and child, with infants 12 months and under entering for free.
